The ADELANTE Triangular Cooperation Window European Union – Latin America and the Caribbean 2021-2024, with an indicative overall budget of €5,000,000 from the European Union, is a funding instrument that seeks to mobilize and channel resources towards partnerships or alliances between entities in Europe and Latin America and the Caribbean that respond to the Triangular Cooperation modality and whose ultimate objective is the achievement of the 2030 Agenda and a more inclusive and sustainable development.
Fifteen initiatives were finally approved. One of them is the “Alliance for the development of the Biomass forest ecosystem“. This project aims to generate an alliance between Mexico, Spain and Peru to exchange best practices and knowledge in biomass management from forest residues, create business and institutional networks that promote sustainable ecosystems, support technology transfer and the transformation of existing forestry clusters through strategic planning models that will also create services adapted to the needs of the sector and jobs in a sector affected by the COVID19 crisis. The Jalisco Forestry Cluster and the CITE Forestal de Pucallpa Peru are expected to participate in this project. The main objective is to promote job creation in the forestry sector and mitigate climate change through the development and improvement of forestry and biomass cluster strategies in Mexico, Peru and Spain. Creation of a solid, long-term alliance that will allow for the exchange of best practices and know-how in the field, and that will grow as projects increase. The alliance will be formed by the following entities:
