IDENTIFY AND RAISE THE EXPORT REQUIREMENTS OF PRIORITIZED KNOWLEDGE BASED SERVICES, FOR THE PLATFORM EXPORT ACCESS 2021-11-25T10:07:55+00:00

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) signed Loan Contract No. 4929 / OC-CO “Program to Support the Diversification and Internationalization of the Colombian Economy”, (hereinafter “the Program”), whose general objective is to contribute to a greater diversification and internationalization of the Colombian economy to boost the country’s economic growth.

The Program consists of two components. Component I “Promotion of exports of Knowledge-Based Services (SBC)” seeks to boost external sales of the SBC sectors prioritized for this Program. Component II “Attraction and Facilitation of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI)” seeks to increase efficient FDI flows through the implementation and use of new tools to streamline procedures, and promote and attract investments.

Export Promotion Component of Knowledge-Based Services (KBS)

Within the framework of the loan project, in relation to Component I “Promotion of SBC exports”, 11 of the SBC sectors have been prioritized (software and mobile applications, audiovisual, BPO, animation and video games, publishing industry and graphics, advertising and marketing, architecture and engineering, education, health, performing arts and music) given their high content of innovation, creativity and intensive use of intellectual capital that makes them potential services to enter international markets and global value chains .

The program focuses on strengthening the export capacity of the SBC sectors, increasing the growth rates of exports, with the aim of achieving a relevant jump in foreign sales of these sectors, and increasing their contribution to non-mining exports. Colombian energy companies, and their diversification. Likewise, increase the added value / complexity of exports in the sectors to promote the progressive escalation of Colombian exporters in chains that involve creative, innovation and differentiation capacities, as well as the quality of the processes and services involved.

To achieve the objective, we develop the following activities:

1.      Validate and identify the correlatives of the CPC code nomenclature (Central Product Classification -CPC, for its acronym in English / ISIC codes-), with the nomenclature of each country (when applicable).

2.      Identify the requirements and regulations for the export of Services to each country, extracting the information from the official sources of the authorities of each of the markets.

3.      Carry out progress reports on the information collected to be validated by the Technical Coordination of the Project in terms of its form and substance.

4.      Propose and schedule face-to-face and / or virtual meetings for feedback on the information collected in order to structure plans, adjustments and corrections.

5.     Deliver the completed form (s) with all the information on correlative nomenclature and coding, regulatory and normative information in the country of destination of the services to be exported, to be validated and uploaded to the www.exportaccess tool .intradebid.org.
